Japanese Culture

I would like to talk about the current situation of Japanese shops in Ginza.
They are struggling to keep up with the world trend.
I went to Tokyo, Ginza area the other day and found the big UNIQLO building there. It was a 12story building and each floor was filled with uniclo clothes. The shop was so crowded.
Ginza area has an international atmosphere filled with various countries
travelers. When I was looking around the shop, some foreigners talked to the shop clerk something in English. I was impressed to see how the clerks responded.
They were so natural waiting on customers in English.
Announcements were done in English and Japanese of course, and the shop had a lively atmosphere.
I went to Ginza 8 chome area with my friend then, which is the end of Ginza and close to Shimbashi area. I noticed that some big buses stop at this point and many Chinese travelers got off. They seemed to be group travelers from China and rather wealthy people over there. After getting off the bus, they were in a hurry to enjoy shopping. The spot was just in front of the big super market and they were standing in line to buy some high quality strawberries. Japanese fruit must be attractive for them.
The shops around the area were so crowded with Chinese people and I felt as if I was in a foreign country.
I entered a jewelry shop, and found that a shop clerk was waiting on that customer in English and in Chinese.
I entered some big department stores in the end, and found that Matsuzakaya department store’s atmosphere had completely changed. It was as if I was in a Chinese department store. The prices were written in Chinese and the signs had a flashy image.
Mitsukoshi and Matsuya still have a posh elegant atmosphere, but I know their business is not doing well. The department store’s sales are declining.
They have to keep up with the world trens now.

It was so fun to see Ginza and think about the Japanese culture there.
